    Thanks.

this is from the official website “Age

Minimum age: 19 years on the date of the written test to be eligible for appointment.

Maximum age: 34 years on the date of the written test. (Applicants with active military duty, as defined in Section 243 (10-a) of the New York State Military Law, may deduct up to six years from their age to meet the maximum age requirement).”

I assume if they let u take the test at 34 - they suppost to call you . Call them up if you need to confirm

I’ve applied and I’m already registered for the exam in June. Is there any reliable sources or practical exams that are very similar to the test in June and what to expect?!

How many people got called from last exam / how many tested?

$125 dollars seems like an insane amount to be paying just to test...

Nassau just charged 150$ for Corrections Exam. So overall it's becoming par for the course for Long island LE exams.

This is what I'd like to know, i see from the practice exam that they provided it shows there will be 2 "subjective" sections of the exam, one where they give you a statement and you rank it from 1 to 5 (Disagree to agree) and also a Life Experience section asking you random questions about your work ethic and habits etc. Could anyone either OTJ or with experience taking these exams explain if they genuinely want the truth here, or we're better off just telling them exactly what they want to hear (AKA giving them the best "political" answer).

      Thanks.

Do not 'tell them what they want to hear'... I promise you it will come back to bite you and you will be seen as deceitful. Be honest– plain and simple. You don't have to remember a 'story' if you just tell the truth.

that’s what I did for NYPD. I answered every question like robocop. scored a 105. been on the job for 5 years now. it’s only seen as deceitful if you change your story around. not that I lied about anything, really, but for questions like, “have you ever been late to work,” I just said no. have I ever been late to work? yeah, maybe a few times over the years, but I’m not doing myself any favors by admitting I was late 3 or 4 times. you see what I’m saying?

Well I'm definitely going to take your advice, I just don't understand how they grade something so subjective unless they're looking for very specific answers.

I agree, i guess the only real question is why they even bother asking questions like that, and even if you were going to put those questions in, why not just have 3 choices like:

            Agree
            Unsure
            Disagree

Once you add Strongly Agree & Strongly Disagree it adds a whole other level of "robocop". Just silly and essentially a charade.

For top scorers do they let you begin the process before a list is established like Nassau does?

I’d say a MINIMUM of 95, and even then you might be waiting a while,

Realistically if you get a 100 they're probably gonna send you a letter a month after we get the results.
