At the rate they're moving, probably not for well over a year unfortunately. Depends on if they ramp up hiring, bright side is, many of the people going for this job may be out of the running by now. Gone to other departments, can't leave the city due to the pay cut, left the state etc etc. You may be 1200 names away on paper but I'm sure the number is easily sub 1000

Anon123 there’s no way to tell man like he said. I just met my investigator and they said it’s slow bc they are only hiring like 50 people at a time now. The good thing like nick said is there’s no test made so they will still keep hiring from this for a while it’s just slowed down a lot.

My list number is higher than yours so I have a ways to go, I'm on in the city and now with a raise like this I'm not 100% sure about leaving since I've been at top pay. Plus if the city does eventually do the modern chart after the pilot program then it'll be even harder to leave and start fresh. New contract made this a tough decision. Look at your current position, can you take the paycut? Are you in a good precinct/unit now? Are you happy? You have time to think about it, it's a tough decision IF you're at top pay, if you're not at top pay then I think your decision should be a bit easier....

nicole122190 NYPD’s new contract is great. If you’re at top pay in a good precinct or unit it would be very hard to leave. However, the city will always be the city. I left with 5.5 years to MTA and now I’m leaving MTA for Nassau come May. There’s not like being on the island. Everyone’s situation is different but if you can take the pay cut it’s worth leaving.
