Question for guys that took and passed the physical, upon completion of physical. Was there any paperwork that was handed to us or was everything just going to be followed up by email for next step of process. Anyone that been through process know how long it takes to hear for next steps?

In the past when has the county sent out hire emails or calls (I don’t know how Nassau does it)? I’m currently on the job and would like to know if I’ll get time to notify my command that I’m being hired by Nassau county. If anybody has any info on that it would be greatly appreciated.

You won’t be given much notice but I’m gonna assume your Admin LT is aware of what you got going on? Maybe 5 days before but that’s about it really.

Buddy told me Nassau’s getting body cameras in exchange for 3k for wearing them. Expect more retirements with that happening just like the city did.

Are we able to keep a part time job while we are in the academy?

Do you wanna be a cop or whatever your part time job is? No you can’t.

Once you graduate you’ll be able to have a part time job.

Went through Nassau academy recently. One of my buddies was allowed to work part time when we were about half way through the academy. You have to have a good reason like kids, a mortgage etc. It also depends what the line of work is as well.

List number 44XX. Currently going through the suffolk county process. Chances I get a call? And Pros/cons between Nassau and Suffolk

Still a while to go before they reach the 4s if they go that far but if they do my guess is if you’re processing now with Suffolk you’d probably graduate that academy with Suffolk before you were even notified for a physical with Nassau. In my opinion whichever calls first you’d be happy with either or.

I hope so I figured with this class about to go in they went to 1400 for the COE so I figured up to 2000 for the fall
