88.00 was the test score they reached according to the civil service site and list number probably somewhere between 3500-4000

When you are giving the conditional offer of employment, if its the county you must sign IMMEDIATELY. Just know that this pulls you from the civil service list and you are no longer eligible for any other departments.

Anyone know if having your own business and separate income will effect anything since I'm NYPD now ? They do ask in the packet for all other sources of income and all bank account balances

Usually ANY outside employment must be approved and it's not permitted when in the academy unless you get special permission.

Usually the first stage of the background is conducted immediately, within a month of the physical which is prints and photos. Meeting with a BI doesn’t happen till a few months after that. I’m in the 5xx’s and still have not met my BI yet.

Not close to making this decision but currently 4 1/2 years with nypd and about 1/2 point from starting the process with Nassau. Speaking to different people I would say 90-95% of those people told me if I had the opportunity to go to Nassau then go. Obviously every person has a different situation depending what job you have now or what agency your coming from. Best of luck!

Twenty years ago I was making $90k a year plus bonus and started a career as a police officer making $27k a year. Back then I thought it was a good move and am more convinced of that now as I am about to retire with a very nice pension and medical/dental for life.

Does anyone know at one point your officially on the list for the villages to hire? Is it after you do the complete background, medical, polygraph etc or can you be offered a COE before completing everything?

When your background check is complete your investigator will call to let you know you passed and they will give you a date to sign your COE. There will be a small window between the completion of your background check and the signing of your coe that villages can contact you. Once you sign with the county or a village you will start phase two which is the poly the psychs and all that good stuff.

I got it tomorrow too. I'm assuming proper business attire means suit.. Anyone else wearing a suit to fingerprints?

I went back in December..definitely wear a full suit. You will be asked to wear suit jacket for picture and fingerprints and no suit jacket for drug testing. Also, you were probably instructed to bring hard copies of documents submitted online..dont stress if you dont have them all. They are not collected..just license, money order and black pen are a must. Good luck
