Rumor is the first class will be in the Fall. After that is anyone's guess. They've had 2 classes in at once in the past, but they've also waited for the first class to graduate. Sit back and enjoy the ride. We're all playing the waiting game.

I believe the academy is like 7 months. But either way yeah its 34 for the first year including academy time and your first few months out of the academy

It's about $1000 a year for having a 4 year degree. If you dont have it just subtract 1000 from every step

Unfortunately the contract CJ posted is outdated and is for officers hired prior to 2014. The new contract has the same top pay, but lower pay steps. Ouch. As great as an opportunity it is, it makes it hard for established earners (LEO or not) to join unless your in you're early 20's or have a very hefty nest egg saved up. I have a rank number in the low 200's, it's going to be a tough decision IF selected.

It's the same $1,000. @CJ I'm pretty sure you start at the new pay scale regardless. Villages may be different and start you higher for previous LEO experience.

Anyone have advice on sit-up portion of physical ? Best way to train. I am able to do the required amount with feet under couch. Is it easier to do in the equipment they put you in? Looks like you get tons of leg support and leg support.

Hold a 10lb weight across your chest while you do your sit ups and increase the weight as you get use to the 10lbs.
