Got this off the last tests forum
You have to look at the hiring process for Nassau County in terms of two phases.

            Phase 1 consists of:
            Agility Test
            Fingerprinting & Drug Test
            Background Investigation

            Phase 2 consists of:
            Medical Examination
            Written Psychological Test
            Oral Psychological Exam
            Polygraph Examination
            Condition of Employment

You'll only move on to Phase 2 once your Investigator has all the information he needs on you, conducts a background investigation and finally sends your completed file off to Civil Service. Once the people at Civil Service review your file and determine that you're eligible to move on, then you'll receive a notification in the mail to report for one or more of the exams that make up the second phase.

For those of us in this group currently undergoing Phase 2 of the process, approximately 100 or so, we completed the COE, medical exam & written psych all in one day. This was done to expedite the process and consolidate as much as possible in to one long day at NUMC. This is not the rule and going forward once the next group of candidates is ready to begin Phase 2 they may have each exam on separate days. A friend of mine off the last exam signed his COE towards the very end of his process and it just consisted of him meeting with his BI at his office and signing the form. That's really all it is anyway.

So don't worry about which order you do the parts of Phase 2 in just know that they all need to be completed at some point to be considered for hire. This is how it was explained to me by my BI and I hope what I wrote out helps answer your question.

Thanks for the information. I guess I’m just waiting for phase 2 to start.

        • Hey guys so I didn't do to great on the test I got a 84.4 some how. Does anyone if they will get up to this number. I heard rumors they are supposed to go into the low 80s.

Additionally, Does Nassau still do the polygraph for the psych.

They give you 5 mins to catch your breathe

        • What does the medical exam consist of? Only thing that worries me is flexibility

          • Based on what I just researched, we have to do a sit and reach test. That is going to be the hardest thing for me, by far

I had the same question, but unfortunately, you have to do it for Nassau separately.

            • So with an 84.4 do I have a shot or is it basically better luck next time. Thanks for the answers in advanced
