Just took the exam from the 8:30am session. I arrived about 20 minutes early, and the line of people waiting to get in went about halfway around the building, so I decided to wait in my car until the line started moving, cause, well, it's cold. Cop by the entrance sent tons of people to their car because they couldn't bring anything in, but by the time we got to the metal detectors, people who didn't listen or care simply put their phones/items in the trays as they walked through the detectors. I figured this would be the case, since not everyone taking the exam drove themselves there. Are you going to make people throw away their stuff? Of course not. Also, people who arrived late were allowed in since they were still processing people to let them in, but don't depend on that, you should definitely arrive early. Now, I'm not sure when I got in, but I didn't begin my exam until about 9:15. The iPads provided have a time limit in the corner that begins after you've read the exam instructions, so obviously read them completely and carefully. I started to get worried when I saw I was on item 50 or so of 200+ with lots of my allotted time already gone by, so I picked up the pace and found the later sections went faster than the beginning, and by the time I finished and filled in the questions I had skipped over, I was able to go over every question again. I saw a lot of people leave early, and that's fine if they felt confident in their work, but personally, while I felt confident, I would rather spend the extra 45-60 minutes going over my work than leaving than doing literally anything else.

Hopefully this last part goes without saying, but I will not reveal any exam content whatsoever, so don't ask or PM if that's what you're looking for. I'm simply posting my experience and would be happy to discuss anything else.

Does anyone know how the exam is graded? Is it the same as Suffolk's? ( graded in increments of 5 pts)

I don't think anyone knows that for this exam. In the past, it was not graded the same as SCPD.

And for reference, the last test was given in December 2012. The list was established in June 2014...

Eh I wouldn’t reference that. It’s all in a electronic database + It was highly unorganized last time so we’ll see results faster than almost 2 years.

Wow insane ...
took the exam today .. I thought the comprehension part of this exam was fairly easy

They key is the personality questions, Im so curios on how they grade these exams

I took the test on Sunday. A lot of personality questions. I live in Malverne, I'm hoping if one doesn't call me, the other will (dependent on results, of course). Malverne hires off the NCPD list, they look for who took the test that lives in Malverne, then go by highest grade, I believe.

Any idea when the results will be out? How long did it take to get the results last time?

I'd be careful posting any specifics around the test... As stated above, nobody knows when the results will be distributed– could be 3 months, 6 months, maybe a year. I forget exactly, but I believe on the last exam it was 6 months, give or take.

I edited my post, I didn't know that might cause a problem. I guess whenever they get around to grading everything.
