Credit from the academy

Hello everyone!
I passed the NYPD exam last month, I know it might take 2 or 3 years before I get to the academy. Meanwhile I'm planning to stay fit, finish my BA in Human resources. I heard the academy give 12 credits toward a master is it true? If yes does the master have to be in criminal justice or not?

It gives 29 or 32 credits for an undergraduate degree, from my understanding. I don't believe it gives you anything towards a master degree.

Police academy graduates are are eligible to take classes at John Jay towards either an undergrad or a masters. They add up to 12 credits, and are free. That might be what you're referring to.

I have a similar question to the ones mentioned above..I have about 49 credits and I'd like to know if the academy would give the me the remaining credits or would I be short..the letter I received recently stated 45 to start process the for any info you can provide

You would be short, you need a total of 60 credits before you get into the academy.
