This thread!
I really don't like those silly,non-substance "cooking shows"...to me they all GIGO.
Reality check: You're on the money, TNT. Disgruntled, Disqualified NYPD former candidates tend to vent their frustrations on these threads rather than moving on with their lives in a different direction.Last edited by CountyCorrectionOfficer; 10-26-2014, 09:32 PM.

Your post has led me to believe you are either in denial of your depression or trying to hide it. Example : You stated "you told" your doctor you are better and not that you "are better." Am I mincing words? Maybe.
This is your life. Being able to take care of yourself should take priority before you serve the public as a LEO. Entering the field of Law Enforcement while not being fit to do the job because it is a dream seems selfish to me.
What do I know though... I'm just a civie aspiring to be a LEO.

I would take the NYPD over my Ph.D regardless of pay just because I know I'll love the job.

First, you tell us your doctor diagnosed "major depression" but apparently didn't refer you to a specialist or prescribe any medication. Now you tell us the doctor prescribed Propranolol because you "asked for it."
Physicians like that are known as "Doctor Feegood" until they are known as "defendant" and then "inmate."
