Politics are very prevalent up this way as well....it's who you are or know.....irregardless of negative background issues.

            • "Pegues’ ascension through the ranks came in spite of the racism he says he endured within the force — and his fight isn’t over. After speaking out publicly against police brutality, and revealing his gang history, Pegues was stripped of his NYPD-issue firearms and his pension was placed under review. His $200 million lawsuit is pending."

I think this paragraph just speaks for itself

There is a "catch-all" question on the extensive personal history questionnaire that asks: "do you know of anything in your background that might affect your suitability for appointment?" This is for individuals with undetected negative incidents who falsify or omit material facts are generally terminated or disqualified from employment. No matter how many years have passed.

Just goes to show, in NYPD these days one mistake has the potential to have you disqualified from employment. I get why they do it though with the amount of applicants.

                    • He's a pos Thug who should have been dropped. He's your typical THUG who played the a Race Card in order to be a criminal with a badge. Why MOS aren't beating the **** out of him is a wonder.

He needs to be dropped in a gutter. **** him. **** the IDIOTS who passed him.
NYPD owns this and Command should be ASHAMED. But they aren't. It's just another indication of how low the NYPD has become. How the standards and lack of discipline are lower each year.

You get the ghetto dept you pay for. Why work for such a ****-poor agency..?
Now go home and get your shine box!

Was.....again all NYPD disciplinary action again him is based upon omission of material facts at the time of application and subsequent appointment.

This can happen at any time during one's active career whether the incident(s) occurred 1 month, 1 year, 10 years or even fifty years ago!

Not really, Vista. They have been known to yank new recruits out of the academy as their background investigations were still on-going. The aspect about the pension is that he's still actively employed by NYPD albeit under suspension; However, once retired, out of NYPD completely, and receiving a pension-- it then can not be rescinded. Outside the NYC retirement system but within NYS; a state or local government public employee's pension rights CAN NOT be taken away from him/her fro any reason. Whether terminated for cause, criminal activity while in public office--if one accumulates minimum service credit in the PFRS, Teachers RS, NYSERS or NYSLRS--they will receive a pension.

I read he had retired. Even had a retiree pistol permit issued in nassau county. NYPD called pistol licensing and had them immideately revoke it.

They were also attempting to decertify his name from the list based on his lies, nullifying his employment. It was an angle they have never tried before.

Was a while ago- thats what i remember off hand
