Had the pre screening today... got there at 9:30 for a 10am appt, didn't leave until nearly 12:30. Most of it was waiting. I passed in spite being pregnant but now I have to wait, they put my file as pending and said to call when I have medical clearance from my Dr. that I'm okay to go but at that point they can't say when the next medical will be, depends on if they call in more people I guess because they said I will go in the with the next appts. It sucks that I'll be pushed back but at least I don't have to re-do the pre-screening. Good luck everyone! I look forward to hearing all about the medical and agility test so I know how to prepare for them!

Only premedical exams today, as the full medicals are completed in a completely different building.
There were 96 candidates today for premed, and the average is over 100 per day.
My full medical is almost a month away. time to change the sig.

mfriguy,
Just height, weight, blood pressure, and vision. My full medical is scheduled in January.
Did they do the full medical for just you because of your trip circumstances? or was it for everyone?
Oh and a note for those screening: Bring something that you can write on like a small book or a magazine. Its quite uncomfortable writing on your own kneeLast edited by LampshadeNYC; 12-15-2010, 06:02 PM.NYS Court Officer Test 45-758

No I postponed my flight, they did the full for me and the 2 other people that were there with me. maybe because there was like nobody scheduled for today or something???? I dont know why but I was hoping it was a good sign but now that you say you got a seperate date maybe they arent rushing it...I do know that the people who were there with me were from Dutchess county so maybe our location had something to do with it...I am confused now but I do know there was only 4 of us in total for the 4 hours I was there, 1 dq for weight and us 3 went thru the whole med.

Hey guys this is my opinion. If they're canvassing in Sufflok and the 9th JD and you have received the same or similar letter that you received from NYC, I would think that as soon as you respond, you will then start the process as you did for NYC. Having said that, If it were me living in those areas, I would go for it. There is nothing better than to work as near as possible to where you live.

Pre med today
I went to my pre-med appointment this afternoon. Word to the wise, get there early if only just to give yourself time to find parking. I had to park in the garage under the mall a block away and made it in just in time. One person came in almost 20 min late and got a stern warning over it.
From what I could see, I was the only person dressed business casual...everyone else was in jeans and sneakers/boots. No one gave them a hard time but if I had to do it again (and I will) I will still dress for the job I want.
The eye test consists of looking into a contraption that shows 6 and 7 rows of letters. I was asked to read the very last row. Then they checked my peripheral vision by shining lights either to my left or right. The color test was difficult. There are 6 circles comprised of many dots, within each circle there are numbers hidden in different but similar color (ex, yellow circle, orange numbers) almost like looking at a monet.
A few people got DQ for weight (I was one of them) they asked me if I wanted to continue and gave me a phone number to call once I am ready to be weighed again. I did'nt notice anyone getting DQ for vision. PS. I had lasik 3 weeks ago.
The entire process took me about 2 1/2 hours.

pre med
I am new to this thread but I have read some of the replies and am going through the process of being canvassed for NYC, I also declined Suffolk and the 9th district...So did anyone who went to Brooklyn for the pre-med also do the full medical with blood, xray urine etc or was it just vision height and weight??

I'm very interested to hear details for the full medical for nyc... and then the physical. My process is pending until I have my baby and then I'm supposed to call when I'm ready so I would like to know exactly how I need to prepare myself. I would be interested in hearing how the women's process goes if there are any on here. Send me a PM when you go if you canThanks and good luck!!!
