Just wondering, any one on here doing the yankee detail for the games?

  • #2
Its not that easy. You have to sign up for this stuff far in advance.

If it seems too easy to do, its most likely NOT.

    Just keep that in mind.

There are two ways of working a Yankee detail.

The first is be assigned to the Yankee Stadium Detail. You have to be assigned to the Bronx, and probably need a couple of years on. The same guys go back year after year, so it may not be that easy to get, you may have to wait for an opening.

The second is the "paid detail" this means you work it off-duty and get paid by the yankee organization. Not that easy to get, they like to use the same guys over and over again, you could get it, but you need to apply in advance.

I knew it was not an easy thing to get on, just wondering if there was anyone here who did happen to be one of the lucky ones.

              Not always

Police in riot gear deployed at Yankees/Red Sox game

Last night was Game 6 of the American League Championship Series, and the crowd got frustrated after a few umpires' calls went against the Yankees. In the ninth inning, they began throwing baseballs and other detritus on to the field.

Police and baseball security officials quickly met, and soon enough, police in riot gear (helmets, batons, jackets) emerged, and lined the left and right sides of the field for a half-inning or so until things calmed down."

I've been to plenty of Yankee games and there is always a police presence, whether play-offs or not. But I feel bad for the cop cause he's usually got his back to the game most of the time watching the crowd.

They got posts all over that stadium, he might have gotten a crap post just that one game.
