    what is some good winter gear you guys use?

      I'm not in NY(from NYC though). Go with smartwool socks and underwear. Thyey work like a champ. Also most of the thinsulate in duty boots are thin so they are not too bulky. Try wearing a pair of bunny boots!

          Another point to consider...dry feet = warm feet. Try to find socks made with a moisture wicking material.....Works wonders for me.

            I just pick up a pair about a month ago and there the best boots I've had. I haven't had them in snow yet, but rain and cold there just right. The reviews online say there prefect for snow.
