N.y.p.d. "white Vehicles"

Hi everyone, recently the N.Y.P.D. has begun releasing "WHITE VEHICLES" to school safety and traffic. However many police officers believe that we as school safety and the traffic agents should be going to our respective unions and protest this. A officer came up to one of my guys and told him to go to the union and see if this is even allowed, he also stated that school safety should not be driving around in a "POLICE" vehicle. His reason was we will get shot at. Now the last time I checked N.Y. wasn't the wild wild west, I haven't heard of too many PO'S being shot at just because the are "THE POLICE". And I know quite a few of them and they have all said the chance of a PO being shot at for NO reason is slim. I WANT TO KNOW THE REAL REASON WHY "COPS" don't want us in these vehicles. Is it because they feel that we are moving in on their territory? Is it because they feel only armed officers should be put in these vehicles? Is it a genuine concern for our safety?

I am an APO, when we had the blue RMP, we still had people flag us down saying there's something down the corner, for some reason some people can't tell the difference between white RMP with POLICE and NYPD all over the lplace and blue RMP with AUXILIARY all over the place.

Well part of your job is to radio stuff in for the public.

this is common and i don't know about any SSA you may have encountered but i have had my fair share of collars this way and you are right we are not armed but we get the job done. without vests or guns nor spray nor batons.
