    as noted in an earlier thread: In NM it depends on how many certified hours you have in the state your from. In NM you have to get to 850 Hrs,. The cert by waiver class is 120 of those hours. So for instance if you cert is 600 hours you can add the cert to make 720 and would need to find 130 hours. NM also gives you 40 hours for every full time post academy year of service.

    I guess it depends on how many hours of training you have and how much experience you have.

    I am a Police Officer in IL looking to lateral out to a department out in New Mexico. Does any one know if the New Mexico DPS Training Board accepts the IL Police Training Academy Certifications for the Certification by Waiver training? If anyone has any information regading this, I would appreciate your help. Thanks!
