Hello, I’m in the US Air Force as military police and about to get out after 4 years, I’m looking to move to the north east, likely New Hampshire. I wanted to know if all require a residential academy, or if they just require a non-residential one. I would like to work for a sheriff’s or city/town department small in size. Thanks!

Hey, any full time certified officer in NH goes to the NH Police Standards and Training Academy. It is a 12 week program, where you live at the academy during the week, and go home on the weekends. By the time you make the move, it will probabaly be 13 or 14 weeks. It is a para-military training program with PT, drill and ceremony, etc... Because it is only 12 weeks, they can only do so much of that stuff, and still fit in all of the classrom and practical training that is required.Last edited by emsflyer21; 09-21-2008, 07:01 PM.Live freeze and die
