It's managed by former Metro SWAT. Unless you're a former police officer or served in the military in a law enforcement/combat capacity, good luck getting in. Pay was mid 20's an hour working 4/10's. You will do a PAT and a shooting qualification and psych exam. Same requirements for Caesars corp, Wynn etc.

Haha those guys are glorified security guard. They don’t do a damn thing but do what casino security does.

That's what I was thinking... Not sure why the hell you would choose to work there after retirement. Maybe for a Manager/Supervisor position, but security? Hard pass.

Sounds like a great job for that narcissistic coke-head Armani suit guy body guard that was posting here some time back...

Makes sense from a hotel management stand point. After seeing the "quality" officers that responded to the Mandalay Bay shooting I would probably have my own response team as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xEvinlILYY

So you would have gone up and went against a guy with ARs and not have waited for backup? That guy had cameras outside of his room that officer would have been Swiss cheese.

The comment you are responding to is based on naïveté and no real world application. Ignore it.

Horrible take and extremely ignorant. There were hundreds of officers racing in there that night. Several casinos, including Mandalay, were getting cleared out because of the confusion and chaos leading to false reports of more active shooters. Officers were treating victims and rushing them to trauma centers. Metro is one of the best departments for a reason and that’s an asinine assumption to make because of one officer.

I have worked with several ERT members at many of the casinos and Metro works closely with these units. They are not just some average security guard. Every single one I have worked with is prior law enforcement or military, mostly military. As another poster mentioned, it would be extremely difficult to get this position without prior LE or military experience.

Trust me when I tell you....They don’t do anything. Ask any casino security how they feel about the ERT guys....they will tell you the same thing....they sit around all day....
