    let me edit something of yours, the firearm voucher and vest voucher are no longer going on. Instead every year we get like 1500 dollars for "clothing allowance" so there are no more vest and gun vouchers.

      oh yea, please dont show up out of shape.... no matter what u say theres always 1 lol. also.... i i studied less and less throughout the academy. The first 3-5 weeks i was studying a good 2-3 hours on my days off every day.... then it got to the point where i wasnt even studying, and it showed on my tests... just keep studying that was my biggest thing is i stopped just got sick of it, i mean i never failed a test.... but i went from mid 90's to mid to low 80's....

          so you have to buy your own vest and gun before starting? what is a rough estimate on the amount spent on items before starting academy?

              you do have to buy your own vest, but u can use the dept issue gun for like 2 years or something like that.

                the tests arent that difficult really... imean if u study a little bit u should pass them. alot of the tests are common sense, the one good thing i had is most of the times we had a lot of fill in the blank questions, and i knew all the FB question verbatim so i never missed one of those.

                          aynone know where i find the pdf's on all the 400 codes and academy training book. It was somewhere on thise site but i cat remember which thread.

                            Acceptable weapons include those semi-automatic handguns in calibers 9mm-.45, manufactured by reputable companies including Ruger. MattG mentioned they need to be black or blue.
                            ...Or stainless.
