  • Officer who wrote 150k tickets in career is retiring

From the article in the Riverfront Times I found this morning:

    Full story here: http://bit.ly/150ktickets

The dedication this officer had to his job is, simply put, awesome.

      Famous or INFAMOUS?
A Veteran is someone who at one point in their life wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America, for an amount up to, and including their life. That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today, who no longer understand that fact!

Unbelievable, I have heard sooo many stories about this guy over the past 10 years. He does his job like no other. I always heard he pulled over as soon as you went over 30...guess those people were telling fibs..he says ten over and that seems fair..wish a long, healthy and fun retirement to him.

I suppose this depends on what side of the uniform your viewing it from.

Having worked for mostly LEO departments, I think hes famous. However, His residents probably have a different opinion :P

I am LEO, if he writes at 1mph over, he would be infamous...reading some of the locals post on here, he sounds like he does a fair job.

                just curious

How many tickets does a police officer average in a year? Is 150k really such a high number over the course of one's career?

Well if you figure in he worked the field everyday of those 26 years (not likely) w/o working overtime (not likely) w/o taking a single sick or vacation day (really not likely) That's still a 30 cite a day average. That's quite high. If you factor in vacations, sick time, and any other days that this officer wasn't in the field over his career, it is more like 50 a day.

Motors will generally write more than other officers but even for a motor that is an incredible #.

I'll be lucky to hit 15,000 by the time I retire.
