I recently applied for the lateral entry position with MPD. They waived the written test because we had all passed the POST test. We went straight to the physical agility and then an interview. I was in the process of being backgrounded, when I withdrew due to accepting a position with another agency
. I had just over a year of experience as a licensed officer, and I was still eligible to apply for the lateral entry class. You may want to check on the three years thing, because I certainly didn't have it.
