  • Break out the popcorn, this one will be good...

    http://www.startribune.com/local/east/285527861.html

    Synopsis:

St. Paul police officer charged with forgery and identity theft.

    Gets better:

The forgery and identity theft was so she could send $1500 to a felon in prison without her department finding out.

The felon was her boyfriend, who is an alleged gang member.

Whom she met when he was 12 years old and she was the SRO at his school.

    I'll make the popcorn.

She cried on the stand that her personal life is none of her department's business. I wouldn't go so far. Don't most/all departments have rules against socializing with known felons?

Usually you hear of male cops making horrible choices over women and it costing them their gig. This is just the reverse.

Interesting, she was one of my classmates in the academy.

She was found guilty of one of the felony counts. Smith said he hasn't decided what to do with her yet, but considering you can't be a cop with a felony conviction, I would say her fate is sealed.
