  • Minnesota State Jobs With Take Home Vehicles

I am wondering what Minnesota state employees are assigned take home vehicles. Given the price of fuel nowadays, I think having a take home vehicle is a huge benefit. Now I know about the following:

    -State Patrol Troopers

    -DNR Conservation Officers

    -BCA Special Agents

    -Alcohol Gambling Enforcement Agents

    -DOC OSI/SIU Fugitive Investigators

-Department of Commerce Insurance Fraud Unit (Maybe?)

    -Department of Revenue CID (Maybe?)

But I am also interested in non-sworn positions that get a take home vehicle. So far, the ones that come to mind are:

    -Deputy State Fire Marshal

-Homeland Security and Emergency Management (Some?)

    -State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Inspectors

    -Department of Agriculture (Inspectors?)

-Department of Health (EMS/Ambulance Inspectors maybe?)

    -Department of Human Services (Inspectors?)

-Department of Labor and Industry (MN OSHA Investigators?)

    -Department of Transportation (Motor Carrier?)

I think I am missing some. Does anybody have any others to add?

I believe there are are a few city and county departments that also get take home vehicles. I have been told that K-9 officers have take home cars.

Outside of the metro practically every sheriff's office has take homes. I don't know of any PDs have take homes though.

As far as the state employees go, I know MNSCU has some but I'm not sure if that's what you were referring to or not.

There are some PD's who have take-homes for certain officer. Obviously canine, but I've also seen T&A Investigators with take-homes since they were expected to be able to respond from home.

Thank you for refreshing my memory on that one. It looks like it the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
