  • 800 MHz - ARMER Radio System

Is there any agency out there, currently on the ARMER 800 MHz system, that regrets making the switch? Our county is currently in the decision stage, 800 or Narrowband our existing VHF freqs?

Any true real world comments would be helpful.

    Thanks.
No, you've got the wrong number. This is 9-1....2.

No regrets at all. Just make sure that your county does their research on antenna placement. Our county did, and so far we haven't found any dead spots. The transition went pretty smooth. Everyone switched to portibles first, and then the squad changeover happened within a couple weeks of that.

We can use a portable in the basement at HCMC and talk clearly with someone in St. Cloud....

It works great the majority of the time. When they're on the fritz, though, it's BAD! Digitized transmissions, getting bonked while keying up, etc...

Like wb647 said, antenna placement is HUGE!
