Just wondering if anyone on here knows anything about them. I couldn't find any information on them on the web. Are they year round or just state fair season?? Where do they post their jobs? Any info would be sweet.

Minnesota State Fair Police
I think they have a few that work year round. Needless to say, they have officers and deputies working off-duty from their home agencies during the run of the fair. I think they also have any number that work during special events as well. I have been there during Horse Expo, for example, and they have officers working that event. It seems like there is something going on there pretty often, between horse shows, car shows, gun shows, antique shows, etc.

They share a channel with us (St. Paul). They usually only have one on per shift. The one officer actually made 2 traffic stops tonight. And like the other posts have said, they hire a lot of officers from other agencies when the Fair is going. Caroline Lowe from WCCO works part time for them, or used to anyway.Comment

They are year round. They have at least one officer on 24/7. Most officers there mainly work events that happen throughout the year. During the State Fair they all work as well as officers from departments around Minnesota as they swell to one of the largest cities in the state for 12 days a year. They also have a good sized police reserve unit that is utilized during larger events.Comment

I remember the guys directing traffic having jackets on from several different agencies down thereComment

State Fair Police
There are quite a few sworn officers. When I worked there, we were topped out this summer, and reserve officers are the ones that do the traffic direction, unless things get too congested.
It was fun while it lasted, but you really won't get any hours aside from the two weeks of the fair. My friend still works there, and he got one shift since Labor Day, and they do not pay for training days you are required to attend.Comment

Anyone have the contact info for the person who does the hiring for State Fair. A few years back, I had an email address for an admin assistant who mailed me out a packet (which got there late). I attempted to email the same person early 2010 but recieved no response. PM me if anyone has the contact info.Comment
