    I know this topic has been discussed before and hopefully I'm not asking the same question...but do the majority of today's academies in Maryland focus on push ups, pull ups, sit ups, etc. or more of a weight room approach. Similarly, is more emphasis put on sprints or long distance, or a happy medium?

    Well I'll share you my academy experience.

    You can NEVER run to FAST or too FAR. Focus on 7 - 8 minute miles and your mile and a half time should not be over 12 minutes.

    You can NEVER EVER EVER do enough push ups OR bicycle kicks

    I never did pull ups in my academy. It was mostly running, pushups, bicycle kicks, sit ups.
