  • Louisville Trip

So the wife and I are taking a 3-4 day trip to the Louisville area over the first week in July and are looking for some suggestions.
The only things we have for sure planned are a full day at Mammoth Caves, Louisville Slugger tour, distillery tour, and maybe a Bat's game at night. Any other ideas for the area. I see that Lexington is close by; any suggestions for that area. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

That's a really good idea to ask for event suggestions on this form. I'm glad you asked. Unfortunately I'm in the same boat as you so I won't be of any assistance. Ill be there the first week of July as well. Have you done any hotel research? I'm 22 and I'm coming down by myself so anything cheap would be awesome.

PS. You could check out websites and apps like eventbrite and groupon to see what's going on during the time you are there.

The wife and I took a weekend trip there a while back. We rented some bikes and road around Waterfront Park. We talked about taking one of the horse/buggy rides, but ended up running out of time. The Cheesecake Factory and Old Spaghetti Factory were both good dining choices. Have fun!

If you guys are coming down as part of the PD hiring process and looking for hotels that are close to the academy, look on either Crittenden Drive or Phillips Ln. They are both about 5 mins from the Academy.

As far as things to do, depends. If you like bars/clubs, go to 4th street live on fri or sat night. If your into bourbon, ive heard the bourbon trail tours are cool. Waterfront park is nice but we have issues there in the summer when some of the hoodrat kids start fights.
