  • Mandatory retirement age for police officers in Kentucky

I am a laid off PO from MI. LE jobs are few and far between up here in MI right now and am considering KY LE agencies....in particular Lexington and Louisville Metro. So I was hoping someone on here could tell me if there is a mandatory retirement age for PO's in KY. I read somewhere it is 55 but that seems pretty extreme.

Lexington does not have a manadatory retirement age; it does have a maximum hiring age. I do not believe Louisville has either restriction.
My posts are sometimes educated, sometimes informed, and sometimes blowing smoke...but they are mine and mine alone and do not reflect on anyone else (especially my employer).

NO age that I can recall. I know some Depts have a mandtory age to apply by but I have never seen a MANDATORY age to be forced out
