Since the budget talks are starting and most departments know if there are going to be hiring i think it's a good idea to find out who is....I see in the Des Moines register that Cedar Rapids is and Indinaola (sp)...Albia just ended the application date.

Anybody else know of any departments that are or will be hiring??

Muscatine PD is almost always hiring, I'm sure they will be at some point. lots of smaller departments are having problems where they may be actually laying people off..

ISU Police's application date just expired (01/31). Probably be hiring at the end of the summer again.

Spencer PD and Ft Dodge PD are looking for new chiefs. Dickinson County is hiring. Ida County just closed. Cedar Rapids and Iowa City are taking apps. Dallas County will be when their new Sheriff situated.

Dallas Looks to Detroit for New Recruits

The Dallas Police Department will send a team of recruiters, testers and interviewers to metro Detroit in a search for new officers.

Detroit-area applicants will have the opportunity to complete phase 1 of the application process over the course of two days.

TheyÂ’ll fill out an application and personal history statement, and take a civil service examination. Applicants will also take a pre-polygraph interview and a physical agility test.

The Dallas Police Department On-Site Testing process eliminates an applicantÂ’s need to travel multiple times to complete the process.

Right now, all new recruits who successfully complete the training process will get a $10,000 signing bonus.
