A few people I used to know made it to the pre-screening but did not move on to the actual polygraph. What does the pre-screening entail? Is it like an interview where I need to be dressed in business attire? How does the CRPD choose who moves on to the polygraph?

They will ask you some of the same questions on your poly. Not going to say exactly what those questions are--because I don't if that's privileged information or not--but they're questions about any criminal behavior you may have been involved in. It's just a way of weeding out people ahead of time who they know won't pass the poly. The way they explained it to me is that the poly can take a lot of time--possibly up to four hours--so that can get pretty expensive in terms of the poly examiner's time. The pre-screen probably takes a half-hour at most.
