I am writing a research paper for school, about David Camm. I have a lot of good sources of Info, but I want more. Anybody know how to get ahold of actual case documents? To whom would I submitt a request for these documents? State police? The Sheriffs office of that county? Any help is greatly appreciated.

For the first trial......go to the Floyd County Courthouse. All the records will be public record. Then for the second trial, go to the Warrick County Courthouse. Same thing, all public record. Of course you're gonna be paying for copy per page.
I was a police officer in the District that Camm worked in as a Troop.Talk about a cocky......yeah. Why waste time writing about this piece of poo?
Why are there so many babies on O.com? Creole, you and your buddy JPSO Recruit help me out on this one....

Thanks! I was hoping for online stuff but I can work with that. Why write about him? Well it is a high profile case(and that is the assinment) It is somewhat Local (for bonus points) And from what I was told the begining of the investigation was riddled with mistakes. I dunno about the last one yet, that is just what I was told.Originally posted by Smurfette_76You will always be disappointed when you expect rational behavior from irrational people.

BigJ,
I think I would rather write about another 'piece of poo', Donald Ray Wallace.
He killed the all American family, maybe even before you were born, or when you were still pooing green'. The VCSO did an excellent job finding this guy. They actually knew who they were looking for by the way he entered that house. Just a suggestion.
There are many more from the Evansville area that did awful murders that have unique stories behind them......~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good thinking Ptcop but that topic has already been taken! Besides my instructor (whom is a major with VCSO ) liked this topic. It is this or the Menendez brothers?!? I will stick with this piece of pooh I think. I just read a story about the court recorder needing three deadline extentions to type out the over 6000 page court documents... For the second trial in Boonville. Uhmmm I hope the charge per page is cheap.Originally posted by Smurfette_76You will always be disappointed when you expect rational behavior from irrational people.

Read "One Deadly Night" by John Glatt ($10). You can get it at any bookstore's true crime section. This book is a detailed background of Camm and his trial. Also contact ISP at district 45. Sgt. Clemmons did the investigation and may go over it with you. I'm not sure if he would but that would be your contact for ISP.
It is an interesting case, good luckComment

Thanks!!! That is what I wanted to hear! I will go to the book store right know and give ISP a Call later today. Thanks Again!Originally posted by Smurfette_76You will always be disappointed when you expect rational behavior from irrational people.

Just for the heck of it I reserved that book at the library so I should have it soon. I lived next door to the office of Camm's attorney in Bloomington but I never got to speak to her about the trial. I'm looking forward to reading the book to get the scoop.Comment

A close trooper friend of mine had Camm as one of his FTO's. He said that the biggest things David taught him during his time riding with him was where all the secluded places were on I-64 Westbound out of New Albany, where you could "take girls and not worry about getting caught."Why are there so many babies on O.com? After reading most of the book, I still have two chapters to go on the trial. I cannot belive the amount of physical hard evidence against him. I understand the indiana supreme court decision on his first trial a lot better now. Just because he was an adultruous peice of pooh doesn't mean he commited murder. I am waiting on calling ISP about this untill I have finished the book and review the supreme court decision on the case. I am still unclear about the charles boney connection though. I also shot out an email to warrick county court clerk about getting court transcripts. We shall see how much they cost.Originally posted by Smurfette_76You will always be disappointed when you expect rational behavior from irrational people.

Around twenty years ago, there was a trooper (Jerry Cliver) from Dugger area that came home and found his wife in a compromising position with another man. I cannot remember if the trooper and his wife were still married, or estranged or maybe divorced. I believe the other man was killed, the (ex?)wife was injured badly. The trooper left the scene, and Indiana as well. He went to Florida and several months later was caught after a traffic stop. I always had sympathy for him until he fired a shot at the Florida officer on the traffic stop. At that moment, I decided he was no longer 'one of us', but 'one of them'. He was brought back to Indiana and is incarcerated now. Now as I am older, I decided he became 'one of them' when he shot the couple.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Still working on the court documents. I have decided that I am going to focus my paper on the intial investigation leading to the PCA. I am not going to take any sides on his guilt. That is not my job, and is way beyond the scope of my paper. However I do look forward to anyones thoughts on the book or any other part of the circus that is David Camm.
PTCOP there seems to be a pattern with ISP doesn't there. (I am not ISP bashing) But you hit on my theis statement in a way.
"I intend to prove in this report that the personal, and profestional relationship between the accused/ accuser caused .... in the intial investigation."
I just am not sure what word to put in where the dots are. I think mistake is to strong. Rash judgement? error? Incomplete follow up.
When the investigator came to the point of "he is now one of them" The whole scope of the investigation changed which sent it into FUBAR!Originally posted by Smurfette_76You will always be disappointed when you expect rational behavior from irrational people.
