  • MCSD-- I know this has been asked before

If you are a MCSD employed by the city such as for example a Zoning Inspector. Are you authorized to carry a weapon while on duty/off duty? What are the limits of your police powers? I have read that now you do a semi basic course at ILEA.

No, they do not do a "semi basic course at ILEA". They will do ILEA pre-basic at the MCSD academy. Carrying a weapon is dictated by the sheriff and the duties of the deputy. inspectors and what not only go through the pre-basic and sometimes criminal law portions of the training. Probation, most township school police, and MCSD employed deputies carry firearms. I don't know of anybody other then those groups that carry firearms.

To be honest, I've never understood why code enforcement and other non-police type people went through the program anyways. Most are undisciplined pukes that cause the actual deputy trainees to get smoked because they're retarded and don't think they have to follow the program for the two or three weeks they're at the academy.

I agree with you I dont know why they put us thru the course either. I was told that it was because we serve warrants or something. Didnt know Zoning inspectors did that
