Hello, I am beginning to write my thesis for grad school. I wanted to keep my thesis law enforcement related since that is all I know. I wanted to keep away from the political bs with body cameras, use of force, etc.
I am going to research police and fire mergers for small towns from partial consolidation, functional consolidation, to full consolidation. It will save tax payer dollars, help with career burnout, and produce better "public safety officers". This may be controversial but it's catching on more and more and I want to research it.
So, are there any police/fire departments who have consolidated in Indiana? I haven't found any...
What are your thoughts on a potential merger of small town departments? (for example, 1-10 firefighters/1-10 police)
