  • IMPD budget meeting tonight.

Don't forget. I've heard people saying things like "I pay my dues so that the leadership can represent me, why should I go?" Because that's how a union works. Look at the pilots' union. Pilots show up and picket at airports when OTHER pilots in OTHER cities are striking. A union is only as strong as its membership.
    I miss you, Dave.

Good luck... Personally, I'd like to see IMPD get an across the board $10,000 raise and some better retirement benefits like higher longevity and more shift differential! They deserve everything they get! Good luck!!! A show of support would be good from the rank and file. I hope there are hundreds there!

It was a pretty solid turn out, more than I expected. I'd say a couple hundred counting family members.
      I miss you, Dave.

I'm glad I don't live in Marion County, though some of the other counties are getting pretty bad with all the hikes in taxes and "fees." They are going to just make Marion County unattractive if tax rates get too high. Higher property taxes, higher income taxes, mass transit taxes, and likely higher fees for water and sewer.

No city funds were used for the Cultural Trail. The three biggest sources were federal transportation funds, federal stimulus funds, and the $15 million the Glicks donated. The remaining $12 million came from private donors.
