  • How to conceal a Glock 22?

I was reading the 'Open Carry' thread and actually learned something. I have been OC'ing and thought as an Officer I should. However, I no longer will. My question is how can I conceal my Glock 22? It's bulky and really stands out in my pants, lol.

Unfortunately right now it's my only weapon. I could try to purchase a smaller one for off duty but right now that's not possible.

I want to carry while off duty, but still have that tactical advantage.

That is a big gun to CC. Can't really help ya there. My only advise is to get a G27 (baby .40) for CC.

I often carry my glock 22 off duty its my only gun as well. I use the glock holster (http://www.allglock.com/item/3664_Gl...LSTER_SPO.aspx), this is a tough little holster and the gun is really in there. I also use a Blackhawk IWB Leather Holster (http://www.uscav.com/Productinfo.asp...ID=1&CatID=185) this hides it a bit better. Use a baggy overshirt and it will be a bit easier I think. Hope this helps.

I have always trusted blackhawk holsters I either go with the Blackhawk IWB Leather holster (mentioned above) it is very comfortable and easy to conceal or I go with the Blackhawk CQC Detachable Slide Holster also easy to conceal if you wear your tshirts untucked. Both awesome comfortable holsters.

Mine fits nicely in my prison wallet. It's a little snug, but I know it won't fall out on accident

I really like the Crossbreed Super Tuck, www.crossbreedholsters.com. It is great for shirt that is tucked in, or untucked. It has a print, but it alot less obvious then OC.

Insert gun in paddle holster. Insert holster on belt. Pull shirt out of your pants and over the gun.

Stop worrying so much about hiding it. Put it on your belt and put your badge next to it. It doesn't have to be burried so deep that its safe from nuclear attack.

Camo paint, very small twigs and branches. Once you get all that attached to your gun, jam it in the small of your back held in place only by your belt (Mexican carry) and no one will be the wiser.

Depends on your build and style of dress, but you should be able to conceal it with a quality inside the waist band holster without much issue. Try here:

I carried mine off duty until I mounted a light on it.
                  I miss you, Dave.

Crossbreed super tuck. If you get it for the 22, once you get a 23 or 27 it will also work with them. It can be worn in various positions around the waistband, move it around to different spots till it's where you like it.

As far as CC, I can comfortably hide a full size while wearing shorts and a t-shirt. You just gotta get used to it. IWB holsters work better for concealment than paddle holsters or belt holsters.

Thanks for the reply and information everyone. I'm in luck because I just became a proud owner of some camo paint! Small twigs and brush shouldn't be a problem, I think im set..hehe.

I think once I get a holster the biggest hurdle will be getting use to it being on my 5 or 6 while driving or sitting someplace. Only way to know is to do it.

I liked the holsters being suggested here and will just have to go try some to see what fits the best. I'm not a big guy, but not small either. Should be interesting.

                      Thanks again guys, stay safe.

I'll add another plug for the Crossbreed Supertuck, or maybe the Don Hume "Jit Slide" holster, which I carry a 19 in on a regular basis. I can't stress enough the right selection of a good cover shirt, maybe a 5-11 Tactical, but after 4 or 5 of these plus a good holster, you have a Glock 27 racked up in dollars! Think about it.

Inside the waistband for me. I use a DeSantis. Love it. Buy shirts a size too large and it will work. With a large gun, You have to dress around the gun and sometimes proper fashion takes a back seat.
                          Good Luck

With an IWB it should go the same place your duty belt would have it, just slightly behind your hip, strong side. That will tuck the handle in against your side.

Unless you wear really tight pants, width is usually harder to hide than length. (giggity) With a double stack magazine pistol you may want to wear a jacket, untucked shirt, or some type of cover garment. Photographer's vests or any variation basically announce you have a gun on you, but there's lots of options. Get a pink Hawaiian shirt. No one feels threatened by you, the pattern breaks up any printing of the gun, the square bottomed shirt is meant to be worn untucked, and BG is dead before he realizes the freak in the loud pink shirt was packing.

+1 For the crossbreed. I wear one with a Taurus Millennium Pro 140 and it's remarkably comfortable and functional.

                              +2 For a Hawaiian shirt!
