  • Avoid NE Indy for the near future

For those who may not have crawled out of their cave today:

I-465 is likely to be a snafu for days to weeks, and all the major arteries in the northeast corner of the county are taking the load. So folks are crashing into each other at an enhanced rate in the city, further snarling traffic.

I wouldn't drive up there off duty for love or money until they get that fixed.

I bet the trooper stuck with the paper is still knocking out the report.
    I miss you, Dave.

Say someone was traveling South down 31 this Saturday going to 901 Post Road what would be the easiest way into and out of the city.I have to be back at the ND/ Boston College game and I should be leaving Indy by atleast noon on Sat.Any suggestions?

Prob take Meridian (US 31) down to 38th St and then take that over to Post Rd. With 465 closed there's really no better way to get down there that I can think of.

Could he detour South on 37 to 75th, and then across to Shadeland and South to 465?

So why is it INDOT closed I465 east at Meridian? My understanding is that the interstate is fine to Allisonville Rd. And yes, I'm very happy I don't live up that way!!

On second thought, how about 31 South to 86th, then East to Shadeland and South to 465? I wouldn't send my worse enemy through the 38th street corridor

The interstate was shut down at 31 because Meridian st is better equipped to handle large quantities of commercial traffic than either Keystone or Allisonville.
