    PROBATIONARY POLICE OFFICER IUPUI POLICE SERVICES (SM17)
    Position#: 00015610

    ****THERE ARE 5 POSITIONS AVAILABLE****

    Provide mobile and foot patrols of University properties to enforce laws, rules and regulations; protect persons and designated properties and document in the appropriate manner. Respond to and take appropriate measures in emergency situations including fire alarms, first aid, criminal acts, accidents, hazardous material emergencies and maintenance emergencies.

    Required: High school diploma, successfully complete following training: ILTB Academy, CPR/First Aid, Firearm & Chemical Agent, Baton and all mandated in-service training. Must have valid driver's license.

    Must be able to read & understand written communication as well as speak English clearly, fluently and articulately. Must be able to understand accents, listen for understanding including sounds from speakers. Must pass ILEA physical standards.

    Wow. That pay is just not good. Hope they have good benefits.

      Pay is $16/hr to $20/hr. There is no take home car. You can work off-duty. The actual job itself is more security than police, as I noted above. They have high turn over, like many lower paying departments.
