6th Applicant Process

I did my Polygraph and Medical very early March, and haven't heard anything back yet. I was looking at the merit process schedule. Looks like Backgrounds are running through April 17th. Obviously, If you didnt pass the Polygraph, The department wouldnt spend the money to put you through the Med/Psychological Eval. Goodluck all, Hope to see you in June.

My polygraph is on April 29th & my med/psych are on the 30th. I saw that they scheduled times for the med/psych were through the 17th but have known all along that they were running late due to my scheduled times (I know, great detective work!!). I have got to be one of the last people taking this step since the PAT is scheduled in mid May. Good luck to everyone that is left.

so has anyone heard if they have "passed" the background/psych phase?

I know the merit board met last week, supposedly to cut people, not to select the actual class

from what i understand its a no news is good news thing & that the merit board may meet more than once. For all of our sake i hope not, cus we still have to choose who is buying the first round for our class. We have all worked hard & continue to do so. So heres to luck & i pray we all get in. I'd hate to be on the merit board.

I was talking with a couple IMPD academy instructors today and last they knew, the class is supposed to start around June 22.

I think they changed the academy start date to June 15th. the June 22nd day was the 1st "start date" but according to the process schedule on

6th Process looks like it starts June 15th. Unless they move it again!

I was just physically shown a copy of the schedule. Start date on schedule June 22. Of course, that may change!

Yeah the dates in our process have been changed a lot so I wouldn't doubt it if they changed again and the .pdf file hasn't been updated.

Hopefully we'll be getting that nice letter in the mail saying "congratulations" and "report to XXX on this date"

the original start date for the academy was June 22... then in February it was changed to June 15... that is the date currently listed under process schedules tab on IMPD's recruiting page of their website...

they moved it up one week so no big deal if they move it back a week to the original date... i keep checking to see... if it changes back to June 22 i will post it here if someone doesnt beat me to the punch

hey IMPD-hopeful peeps...

have any of my fellow applicants heard anything from their BG investigator? I heard from a friend on the dept that the merit board meets again in early May to make the final decisions on those left in the process...

just wondering if anyone else has any info they can share???

I had a couple questions for my recruiter today so I wrote an e-mail. They wrote back that they have to get everyone through the background check so we probably won't hear anything until the end of April, possibly Early May. They said they couldn't specify dates so just keep an eye on the mailbox guys and gals.

i dont think thats a rumor...

the merit board meets at the beginning of may and june... if they dont make their decisions by may and dont meet again til june that wont give the recruits enough time to give 2 weeks notice to their current employers... unless they push the class back a week or 2
