6th Applicant Process

I know that they have merged this with another process. Has anyone heard the amount of officers that are being hired from this pool?

No confirmation, only rumors.

I don't have any confirmation but I've heard both 24 and 51 thrown around. If I recall correctly, 5th class which started last Monday only has 23(?) recruits.

There are 21 left in the 5th Recruit Class right now.

Last word we had heard from HR as of last Friday was the 6th is going to start 70 people.

Now you might wonder why people would quit, but there are a lot of reasons. Have had 2 quit so far in the current class, with the other being a medical issue (pre-existing).

From my understanding, if you were in applicant group B for the 5th and passed what you needed to pass, you are still in the running for the 6th Recruit Class.

Thanks for the replies. I'm hoping i'm one of the 70 that is chosen. I believe I did well on the oral board so i'll find out in about 2.5 Weeks.

That's crazy only 23 in the recruit class. Do they call up people who were originally cut to offer them their spot? Or they just continue on without filling the voids?

Unfortunately, there is no list to call people in, so they just continue on. Unfortunately, can't always be sure when people will quit, but the fact is, there are always some that quit every class.

Reasons vary, but the fact remains.

The other reason there is no list is, if they have 50 spots for the recruit class, then there might be just a bit more than 50 taken to the Merit Board. However, historically, the Merit Board always turns down several, for various reasons.

Also, to be fair to applicants and their current employers, it wouldn't be right to call someone on a Wednesday or Thursday and ask them to report on the next Monday to the academy.

Didn't want to start another thread or e-mail a recruiter. If any of you IMPD officers are aware if IMPD will hire someone who is over 36, but on PERF already?

No not yet, thats what I figured any day now..I hope the first of next week.

3 weeks exactly for me will be wednesday, and IMPD HR has been pretty on the dot with the notifications for this process
