CPD Training Districts

I was wondering if anyone knew which of the CPD districts were training districts. I heard there were 12 of them. My dad works in 024 and says that is one of them. Thanks!

2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 24, 25

You'd think he would know that considering my interest in joining, but apparently he knows nothing. He's been on so long they had a weight and a height requirement when he came on! He's on his way out the door very soon and knows more about retirement than recruitment. That's why I turn to you guys.

When u get out of the academy do they assign u to a specfic distric or how to that work?

Certain people get to pick (class commander, assistant class commander, top gun, top athletic, top academic)....but for the majority...they send you where they need you. And they don't tell you where until the day before you're to report there.

Do you get to try and pick a post like plainclothing or detective or anything like that assuming you meet the requirements?

Everyone is a blue shirt straight out of the academy. Even if you have crazy juice you start out as a beat cop like everyone else.

Yep...and for about 2-3 years

The first "specialized" unit you can get into is TRU after two years on the job. Detective I believe is five years. Somewhere in between there you can go for a TAC team.

I am sure all these are training districts (they opened almost every district up) 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,14,15,22,24,25

not sure about 13,19,20,21,

I'm positive 1,16,17,18,23 are not

I think 21 is now. Seems like a couple people I knew in the academy are there.
