CPD - March 2021 New Applications

Hi all, I’m new to the forum, but I’ve followed this thread religiously as I’m also part of the March 2021 batch of applicants. My concern is the following, I did my initial processing July 31st like many others here. However, early last week I received another e-mail from HR inviting me to another initial processing day this weekend. Should this be something I should be worried about? CPD/BI’s already have everything from me in regards to what we all did and submitted on July 31st. I really think it’s some sort of glitch, should I reach out to them and ask just in case? Update: I was able to speak to a BI today, and they told me it was indeed an error. They accidentally sent out e-mails to some applicants who already completed their initial processing. In case anyone else here got a similar e-mail recently. Disregard it, and just sit tight.

Hey Guys following this everyday! First of all thanks for everyone who are posting all this great information. I am not part of the March batch but I applied in June 2021 I have the Initial Processing Day this weekend and I'm a little worried since I came down with a small case of a cold ( NOT COVID ALREADY TESTED) this made hurt me with the the 1.5 Mile since my chest is a little congested, I will give it my all, I was just wondering the email we got clearly states that if you do not pass the ( Pre power test) you still move on with the process, Wondering has anyone failed the pre power? If so you you think this will push you to the back of the list as they will look at the people that pass first before looking at the guys and girls who failed?

They said for us even if you fail the power test you will still move forward as long as you can pass the final power test before they hire you

Welcome to the forum guys. Just want you guys to shake that failure mindset going into it and everything else really. Say you're going to pass, believe it and follow through. Take every test likes its your final. No excuses guys! There is no time out in the real world. Be prepared.

We used to have to pass the POWER Test every 45 days until they hired us because it was only valid for that long and if the class got delayed well be ready for another POWER Test and you had to pass it. I always visualized that finish line on the run to represent a good paying job w/benefits and an opportunity to help my family. Thank you guys for your interest in wanting to work here and make it happen if you really want it.

I am having my polygraph exam next week. Do you guys know if they send an email for confirmation or call before the polygraph?

Did you already do your home interview and if so with CPD or kentech

I had my home interview with Kentech. Do you guys know why some people have background with Kentech and some with Cpd?

I have completed my investigation process with kentech they never sent me to do a polygraph and my file is now with Cpd hr I was told that my file is waiting to be assigned to a cpd investigator. It seems as after the polygraph everything stops. The reason I say that is because once kentech is done with your file and it gets sent to cpd hr and it sits there till an investigator gets assigned to it. I am part of the March 2021 application process and here I am waiting to hear from CPD now.

Hey Guys Initial Processing Day yesterday 10/02 was a success I would say at least 60-70 people were on our 11AM class I know there was a earlier 7AM class. They did mention that the March applicants were in yesterday for the Final PT congrats to all of you who have gotten that far already. They did said that depending on how clean our backgrounds are we could see these final steps by DEC as well let's hope for the best.

i called on friday and said the in processing group from july 31 and aug 1 should hear something in the next 2-3 weeks but they said that when i called them in the beginning of september

Since it also applies to March 2021 applicants, the next class starts October 25 according to an officer who conducted a portion of the psychological exam.

Good luck everyone and if this is what you really want just hang in there. I graduated in Aug from the academy and my initial application was back in 2015, because of giving birth twice and the hiring freeze, covid, just life in general it took a while but I’m here because I didn’t give up. Trust me I know the waiting game is long but it’s worth it in the end. I know some people while they waited for CPD fill out other applications for other departments, myself personally just waited for CPD. Do what’s best for you and your family. Kentech calls personal references, not the background investigator.

For me, it was before. Kentech background investigation happened in 2019 and background investigation by CPD happened in 2021. Not every case is the same. Yours may go by faster.

mwolf78 … I guess all we can do is wait I also called and I was told the same thing. I was told that my file is waiting on a investigator. I have already completed every step with kentech and my file has been sent to CPD HR…Now I guess just waiting for CPD Investigators to complete final steps.

not sure if they are choosing not to tell us or the people answering the phones just dont know at all
