does anyone suggest applying if you don't live in Chicago but willing to relocate? due to I feel like that's a lot of lying back and forth for hiring process for CPD one would be just for this POWER TEST they do thast new to me being from Georgia we don't have anything like that.

Someone was talking about now for POWER TEST we have to also take a leader climbing test lol WTH lol so weird.

any one from out of state applying to CPD I haven't applied yet because I believe I read one of the required documents need to apply by deadline is the power test card so !! kind of out of loop really

one other question is there a way to do the power test in our home state some how can't someone just watch us and put our scores on this POWER TEST CARD vs having to fly up there and one other thing I heard due to COVID we can do this exam online now? it's called like National Network something testing?

You’d think that. You’d also think people would be able to pass the POWER test without any issues. But unfortunately politics..uhh I mean “impartiality” comes into play.

alphawolf290 The process is not very out of state friendly so to speak as far as condensing any steps, etc. It sounds like you're mixing up the process for one suburb (Berwyn) for the ladder climb thing which is a strange one if they still have it. The test is pass or fail and witnessed by everyone so no politics there it's pretty straight forward. I don't have any other relatives on the job and got on just fine. Just do your research especially if you're trying to travel far for this job. We're on a cancelled day off schedule now and a lot of people are leaving but everyone is an adult and can make their own decisions. It's still an opportunity to get certified and get experience and then take that anywhere else. I have former coworkers that work in other states across the country and some went federal so if you have a stomach for the bs by all means have at it. Good luck. I still work here.

just got an email from kentech to do their questionnaire

I had my polygraph exam month and a half ago and since then I haven't heard anything. I called HR today and I was told I have assigned investigator. She tried to transfer the call to him but he didn't respond. So my question is does it mean that I passed the polygraph and background investigation from Kentech? And what is next? How long usually takes till they call for the next steps?

MacaM I had my kentech investigation MONTHS ago I was then told that I would get a call from my CPD investigator. I received a call from her and was told to look out for a phone call or email for the polygraph. Till this date I am still waiting. I’ve called her numerous times left her voicemails and never get a single call back. I also have friends that have completed a polygraph and are still waiting for a call back on the next steps… this process is crazy and long !

Bluelife01 I had my polygraph right after kentech was done with my background check.
Feels like after the polygraph everything slows down.
I hope you will recieve the call just keep calling HR.

MacaM I guess I was that lucky one not to get a call for a polygraph right after the kentech investigation. Everything was done and I passed the investigation Kentech investigator said that the file was sent over to CPD investigators I’ve called HR they keep forwarding me to my CPD investigator but she never answers she called me back once and said to be on the look out for that call but nothing yet !

How quick was kentech to set up the interview after you finish their phq and turn in the required documents

does anyone know when the next few academy classes are scheduled for CPD? Even though I'm still in the baby stages of the process hoping to maybe be in the academy by maybe late January or February...or possibly March with how slowly I have been moving in this process.

The next academy class is at the end of December. I think they have classes every month now.
