I'm 26, was born in the Philippines "Naturalized Citizen", with some college credits. I took the written exam while still in the military flew back home to Chicago while being stationed in Texas. Was in the US military for 6 years honorable discharge “March 2019 I got out of military” took the opportunity due to CPD waiving the education requirement for Active Veterans. I have no red flags "no tickets, no drugs, only drink during special events most likely 5 or less times a year with a no more than 4 or less beers at a time, No altercation with law enforcement" I'm a level headed person with really thick skin and that is always humble.
I wanna thank this forum for informing me and thank the people who also shared there stories.Last edited by joefelly; 08-01-2019, 12:10 PM.👍 3Comment

so I took the written test on dec 2018 and I was supposed to take the power test in march 2019 but I got sick. I never rescheduled to take the power test. I want to give this another try. Should I retake the written test or can I take the power test whenever they test again?Comment

Hello I got DQ for the May 2018 and withdrew so it won’t show up as DQ so I can resume my December 2018 process but they assigned to the same investigator... will I be DQ again? Will I have to redo everything or they’ll continue where I left off which was waiting for my FPT, psych and medical
What was was the DQ for?

Does anyone know how long till your poly expires? Got DQ from May2016. Took poly 01/17. Got DQ again for May 2018, they used the same poly. Is it good forever and they will DQ me every time?Comment

Mayor Lightfood just imposed a city government hiring freeze, police included. Not sure what this will mean for candidates in the process.
EDIT: Ahh, just read that the September class will be pushed back until further notice.Last edited by AspiringChicagoCop; 08-23-2019, 12:24 PM.Comment

Whoever have been hired since the big boom that started in 2012 were lucky to get a smooth and speedy hiring process. It never happened before, you had to wait years to be hired. I thought the city has learnt from prior mistakes, nope, the attrition will keep at the same steady pace, no new officers will replace them, us will be working OT , have day off cancelled even more often than we have now and more frustration will be built.Comment
