I got the selection call today for Cook County Corrections. Supposed to report for orientation on Monday at the Daley Center. I was actually expecting a letter, but I guess the phone is quicker.

I'm sure I'm not the only one. Anyone else hear anything?

Thanks! I originally applied back in Nov 05. I tested in Aug 06, and got certified in Jan 07. With all the budget issues and political aftermath (sorry, not you), I thought for sure I wouldn't hear anything for a while.
You never know.

I'll try to keep that in mind. Is Division IX the 'new' max security division?

You will most likely continue to wait until your certification expires.

And hence what I spoke of in many posts. There is no waiting on a list that they call in order. Once certified you are certified no matter when you were certified. Others will be called in front of you that were certified a year and a half after you.

Really? Damn. Oh, and sounds about right for the close to 2 years from app to call. That's how long it took me the first time around. Actually forgot about CC for a while till I got the call. Too bad I have to repeat the process but such is life. Congrats again, just watch what you step in, literal and figurative, there.

Yep. Almost 2yrs for me, too.

Get ready for the head games! If they keep up with tradition they will star at "orientation." Read the paper before you sign in and make sure you write down what they tell about how you are to be dressed and where for the first day. But even then, someone will screw up and you will all be punished. GUARANTEED!

Above all else..... NEVER EVER QUIT!!! Don't quit running, be slow be at the end but do not stop. Do not stop exercising. DO... NOT... STOP!!! You do not want to be sent out for the medical process.
