any advice???

I need a bit of advice... I am a substitute teacher right now and I was offered a job taking over a grade from mid April till the end of the year (I believe June 15th). I told the school about this whole police process so I wasn't sure if I could take the job or not... I have to let them know. I was wondering if I could get some opinions on whether or not I should take it till June. I have my med April 2nd and haven't heard anything from a BI yet. I'm thinking I should since its only 2 months and I don't think I would be finished with the recruitment process that quick, but I didn't want to leave the school hanging just in case. It seems as though the wait for everyone varies so any advice would be great. Does anyone think the docs might know how long the results take?

Take the job. If you have your med April 2nd, its a longshot you will get in by june. you have anywhere from a 4-12mos wait depending on how many classes they are going to put through. there is a class starting this coming monday(50 recruits) and one on the 30th of April (50 recruits). The best advice I can give you is take the for sure thing.

I agree, take the job. You'll probably still be in the process by June. You still have the BI and final power test after the Med.

I agree, take the job. I've been in law enforcement 12 years....trust me...take the job. As the others have said, go for the sure thing for now. You've been upfront with school administration so I see no problems there. City, State and Federal governments all can be VERY weird...dates changes, requirements change, etc...

It took 5 weeks for me to get my medical back...It takes 2-3 months for the psych...then you got to send in your stuff for the BI...then the home...then the final power...you got plenty of time, you will be fine

Thanks for the advice everyone. I did find out who my BI is and called her about it, she too told me to take it. Now I'm wondering about going to Vegas during the summer (late July/ early August). I read here to take vacations now so I'm hoping that still might be a good time!
