Cook County Education Benefits?

I tried searching the forums for information about education benefits for Cook County employees, but came up empty. I know that we have some Cook County employees on the board, and others that may be able to shed some light on the subject.
Does Cook County offer tuition reimbursement to their CO/Deputies/Sheriff's Police for higher education expenses?

Yes Cook County will reimburse you up to $500. once a year. It isn't much but something is better than nothing. They have a great program offered by Triton College held somewhere in the Jail compound for court services and DOC officers. I've tried it for at least 4 semesters and it was great. The college will offer up to 4 to 5 classes a semester. I recommend it for all Deputies in Courts and DOC. THe program consist of criminal law, english , and speech classes. This is a great way to obtain a degree in law while your getting paid at work. You can pick up a form in the personnel department in Div. 5. Good luck.
