  • Will County Sheriff Corrections 2017

Looks like there starting a new eligibility, the old that's good till July 1st of this year still has 36 names on it, and started with 88 names.

they also have no physcial agility testing requirements up from 2015.
a mile in 12 mins, bench press 70% of your body weight, 24 situps, sit and reach too.

starts at 47k a year, tops at 75k a year. In 2015 they started at 39k.

whos testing and knows about the jail?

The physical agility is different but everything else is same as the Deputy process.

guess it's worth asking about, seems unusual this POWEResqe test has come into play, maybe they are trying to be like cook county and allow there corrections officers to carry off duty.

Our COs are not sworn officers. They can only carry their weapons to and from work and while working outside the jail (ADF). The pay has got a lot better over the past couple years but still pretty high turnover. If your aspiration is to make it to the road you'll have to test for deputy when the current list expires (December-ish 2018). Sheriff Kelley has taken the majority of the COs off the deputy list from the last list. There are several on the current list who will more than likely be offered a deputy position as well.
