Juvenile records are sealed for purposes other than law enforcement. The arresting agency will have (and share) access of these records with any other law enforcement agency or DCFS. The record may or may not effect this person's chances of being a law enforcement officer.

Thanks for the reply slamdunc. We are going to speak further with his lawyer (I HATE lawyers by the way) about it. From what I understand is if he is ever asked if he's been convicted on an application, he can honestly say no. Obviously a police department will uncover it, but for other places of work he can say "no."

Anyway, if anybody else has more info let me know. The juvenile system is very, very confusing and his lawyer is a piece of work. He said we can go in and talk to him but it will be at his regular rate of $75/hour! He even charged us for the 5 minute phone call.

That's actually pretty cheap, mine is $190 per hour.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses....Hit it!
