      10-5? That's not the 10-5 I know. Security must have different 10 codes than POLICE.

              Job Description: Public Safety Officer II is a level of front line officers that are specially trained and skilled in procedures and tactics that require a higher level of performance than basic officers. The percent of time that each officer spends on his duties will vary based on his/her assignment and the needs of the organization. Under certain circumstances, 100% of their time may be focused on one of the specialty roles.Public Safety Officer II may be called upon to participate in our ERT (Emergency Response Team )Squad, serve in a training capacity, manage the responsibility of the dispatch desk or serve as a K-9 patrol officer. These multiple duties may cross over based on level of training and skill of the officer.In addition, all officers are responsible for maintaining a secure environment at the front line of service, in order to ensure that patients, associates, visitors and guests are served and protected and that all contents and assets of the medical center are secured and that potentially harmful, dangerous or unsafe situations or conditions are anticipated and addressed in a way that speaks to our mission values and philosophy.Accountabilities:1. Responsible for providing security service at assigned post/patrol and throughout the hospitals in emergency or unusual situations.All officers are required to uphold the highest degree of customer services as outlined in our Advancing Excellence Standards 100% of the time2. If the officer is asked to serve as a member of our ERT team.. The ERT officer must carry his/her assigned weapon(s) at all times while on duty. The ERT team is a tactical unit within the public safety department. They are equipped with specialized firearms, riot control agents, specialized equipment including body armor, ballistic shields, entry tools. 3. In addition to their regular duties, officers in level II positions may be asked to be the acting supervisor on shifts where no sergeant or corporal is on duty. An �acting supervisor� is responsible for the following5. If chosen to serve in a training capacity, the officer would be responsible for mentoring new hires, providing feedback and assisting the chief training officer with maintaining 100% competencies for all officers.6. If chosen to serve on the K-9 patrol team the officer must make a long term commitment to both the animal and the organization and maintain all required training levels and care for his/her K-9 partner as a part of his/her family.7.

                I see state police mentioned in that description therefore they are certified by the state police. Yep. You can't get more police than that. ERT come on, they got to be police with a squad like that.

                        And to clarify, I have no issue with security. I started doing the security thing and the auxiliary thing and the dispatch thing before I got to the police thing. As has been stated before, if you wanna go be the police go do it. No need to hype up some security gig. People aren't gonna dog you for being security as long as you aren't "that guy".

                          I eagerly await my escort from Two11 to see my DUI crash victims. I'll thank him, just like I do other security guards, and then he will return to his desk and stare at the front door.

                                From the interview they stated that they are the police. Oh well. I received some bad information about this department. I don't think I'm going to accept the position. Thanks everyone.
