They're going through some administrative changes right now, and just voted No Confidence in their Chief. According to the newspapers they are looking for a new one (I believe the current one is an interim?) and that is probably making for some instability and uncertainty. Regardless, good department to work for from my limited interactions with them.

Since they opened up that casino, it has definitely helped them with the budget issues that most agencies face in this economy. Im going to talk to my friend and ask him how many exactly they are planning on hiring and retirements etc.
They just voted No Confidence in Kozak. Good department, hopefully everything works out for the best. Don't miss this test.

I've heard the same about a tough FTO program. Also heard from a somewhat reliable source that the dept is looking to hire 16. Between the casino, the sec. 8 they recently added, and the fact they were short staffed on midnights to begin with should make for a good amount of new hires.

Wonder how many will show up for the test. I'm definitely in.

I hate the fact that they will only accept a NIPSTA card that is 6 months old to the test date. My card is exactly 1 week off. I took it on March 15th so that I can take the Elmhurst test. I waited as long as I could. hoping that I could use the card for all the testing that I was planning on doing during the summer and fall months. It looks like I will have to give NIPSTA another $35.

I feel your pain, I'm not a super fan of NIPSTA either.
I missed the date by only 5 days.
I rescheduled for Sept right before the test though. Hopefully won't be too hot..maybe even a little rainy...

It means more $ for DP

Anyone hear how many cops DP is plaining to hire? I don't think 16 is correct, but I could be wrong.

Or more money for Public Safety Recruitment (SCAM).

Don't take this wrong, but how are you defining tough FTO program? I have been an FTO for 8 years, and there are only certain things that will drop a PPO immediately, and if the PPO isn't responding to training, they basically fire themselves.

When you take NIPSTA do you get a card on the spot?

What documents do you need to turn in when you apply? I will be visiting Chicago from out of town and I'd hate to get there and not have all required forms. Thanks.
