I just transfered from there. They were hiring 10 for January. Good Luck worst place in IDOC to work.

I got my call today!! I was wondering for any vet officers will this be a good move since the state is in the condition it's in? Because I will be first on the chopping block

No I don't know when the academy date is... @ Future where did you transfer to? I remember you said officers were lazy is that the reason it's the worst place to wrk in idoc? I know a few people out there and they said a lot of petty stuff goes on also

Other than that future will it be a good idea because of atc closing and the other prisons? I know it's been short out there...

They call it WECATUR for a reason. Very inmate friendly. You will be fine to take it. State is always gonna have their problems. I went north 40 mins.

Regarding closing the facilities,guys-relax,go to the Academy and get your 22$ /hour pay for 6 weeks,even they lay you off after graduation -you are going to collect your uneployment check from the state and IDOC won't contest it.
As of day two in mine academy that's what they told us,one guy got up and left,he just went home, i stayed ,graduated ,cleared from COT status and facing to get of probationary status soon, getting my sweet pay check every two weeks and work OT,so don't be the guy who left,always accomplish the business you have started.

That's sweet to know.... It makes transitioning into this position a lot easier!! I believe it will work out Ive talked to a few people and they said it shouldnt be a problem to go through with it... So I am !!
